From a 3-in-1 Body Wash to an Actual Routine
The Nourishment Experience Project

An observational participant series documenting individual experiences following personalized Allow Nourishment skincare protocols. Participants complete an intake assessment, receive an individualized routine, submit weekly questionnaires, provide photographs and videos, and complete a final evaluation. These reports document participant-reported experiences and observations. They are not controlled clinical trials.

Participant AN-004 did not have a skincare routine. He had a 3-in-1 body wash. He enrolled on May 29, 2026 to find out whether an actual routine would do anything for the mild seasonal acne he’d had for years.

Summary

Participant
E.M. — AN-004
Primary concerns
Seasonal acne, occasional breakouts, skin texture
Study length
Approximately 2 months
Compliance
Variable — 100% early, dropping to 40–70%
Satisfaction
5/5
Key outcome
Smoother texture, healthier complexion, improved clarity

“I noticed my skin felt smoother and looked fresher, and my breakouts cleared up.”

Presenting concerns

E.M. enrolled seeking a simple, consistent routine after primarily washing his face with a 3-in-1 body wash. He described generally normal skin with mild seasonal acne and occasional breakouts, and wanted to improve overall clarity and texture.

Baseline assessment

Skin type
Generally normal, with mild seasonal acne.
Duration
Several years, primarily during allergy season.
Previous products
3-in-1 body wash, hand soap, Stridex acne pads.
Goals
Improve overall skin health, clarity, and texture, and reduce breakouts.

His individualized protocol

Morning and evening routines were individualized from the participant’s intake assessment. Four products, $84 total.

Compliance and lifestyle

Week Compliance Water Sleep Stress Breakouts Improvement
1 100% 100+ oz 2/5 4/5 4/5 7/10
2 100% 100+ oz 3/5 5/5 3/5 7/10
3 70% 100+ oz 3/5 2/5 4/5 8/10
4 70% 100+ oz 4/5 4/5 2/5 8/10
5 40% 80–100 oz 3/5 2/5 4/5 8/10
6 70% 100+ oz 4/5 3/5 4/5 9/10

Self-reported weekly. Sleep, stress and breakouts are 1–5 scales; improvement is 1–10. His is the least tidy dataset in the series — compliance fell to 40% in week five — and it is included as recorded.

Week by week

Weeks 1–2

E.M. noticed smoother skin, improved texture, and a fresher complexion, with early improvements in redness and comfort while maintaining full compliance.

“I’ve noticed a subtle improvement in how smooth and fresh my skin feels.”

Weeks 3–4

Despite reduced adherence, he continued reporting smoother skin, improved hydration, and a more balanced complexion. Photographs showed fewer visible inflammatory blemishes.

“The morning/evening routines have been a great experience, leaving my skin feeling smoother and more refreshed.”

Weeks 5–6

After briefly falling off routine in week five, E.M. resumed regular use and finished with his highest improvement score of the study, 9/10.

“I have noticed that my skin has felt (and looked) smoother.”

Final assessment

E.M. completed approximately two months of product use and reported smoother skin, a fresher complexion, and improved breakouts. He rated his skin 5/5 at the conclusion and recommended the routine to others.

Photographs submitted by the participant, unretouched and uncropped. They were taken at home rather than under controlled conditions, so lighting, clothing, and camera angle vary between sessions.

In his words, before

“I figured it might be time to upgrade from my current routine (or lack of one).”

In his words, after

“My skin felt smoother, looked fresher and breakouts cleared up.”

Researcher discussion

Photographic documentation showed gradual improvements in texture, complexion, and overall appearance. Weekly questionnaires and the final survey consistently described smoother skin, less oiliness, improved clarity, and greater confidence in maintaining a simple routine. Temporary decreases in adherence corresponded with less favorable weekly scores, which is itself worth noting: the routine appears to reward consistency more than intensity.

Study limitations

This report represents one observational participant experience and should not be interpreted as evidence of clinical efficacy. Individual results may vary.
